The 'drunk' pastor allegedly stormed into the ex-wife's pharmacy Photo: Courtesy A city preacher was forced to pay Sh3,000 cash bail when he was arraigned in court for allegedly threatening to burn his ex-wife and child alive. George Otieno, 33, who is said to be a pastor with the Redeemed Gospel Church in the city, was also accused of calling Mariam Nafula, his ex-wife, a prostitute. The court heard that the accused committed the offence on May 22 in Blue estate, Shauri Moyo. The prosecution said that Otieno paid Nafula a surprise visit at her chemist, where he abused her and called her “foolish.” Nafula told police that she was in her shop with her brother when her ex-husband arrived seemingly drunk. She claimed that Otieno insulted her repeatedly. The altercation attracted the public who listened as the accused reportedly attempted to break into the shop claiming his ex wife had many “husbands.” Otieno denied the charges. The case will be heard on October 26.
